Volunteer Opportunities
Help keep the boat afloat by signing up for a committee with KCRC! This is a great way to get those volunteer hours in and help out the club in a variety of ways. Within each committee, there will be plenty of ways for you to find volunteer work to fit your schedule, skills, and how you want to contribute. We’d love to achieve 100% committee participation from members!
Here is a run-down of the committee options:
- Operations, Equipment, and Boathouse Committee: Ensuring that the equipment and boathouse are in working order and meeting the needs of our programming schedule. Types of work: Organization and admin work to keep track of maintenance needs, fixing and maintaining stuff, work parties, launch upkeep, boathouse upkeep
- Programming Committee: Responsible for defining and running KCRC’s programming, including coordinating coaches, training, and regattas, meeting the needs of all rowers from new to experienced. Liaising / collaborating with the school district to help determine the future of youth rowing in at the boathouse. Types of work: organization and admin work to execute programming schedules, determining what sessions we’ll offer, coordinating with coaches, event planning like regattas, inter-club rows, and special training events (cox clinics, etc.).
- Co-Chair opportunity – we are looking to find a co-chair of this committee that would champion our conversations with the Northshore School District on the future of youth rowing at the Kenmore Boathouse!
- Membership & Communications Committee: Supporting and growing KCRC membership; managing communications with members and the public. Types of work: iCrew management, website, social media, member communications, recruitment of new members
- Fundraising Committee: Raise funds for the club to continue operations and grow to meet member needs. Types of work: Fundraising event planning, admin work like thank you letters, grant writing, brainstorming on additional revenue streams
- Co-Chair opportunity – we are looking for a co-chair for our fundraising committee to sit alongside the Board representative and help with fundraising planning and strategy.
- Finance Committee: Manage and monitor club finances, set budgets. Types of work: Accounting, business planning, strategy
